About the Role
As an Early Years Childcare Practitioner, you will help create a safe, stimulating and caring environment where children feel happy, confident and inspired to learn. Working alongside our friendly team, you will support children's individual development through play-based learning, meaningful interactions and high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that support children's physical, emotional, social and cognitive development.
- Provide attentive care and supervision, ensuring children's safety and wellbeing at all times.
- Build positive relationships with children, helping them develop confidence, independence and self-esteem.
- Create a warm, inclusive and nurturing environment where every child feels valued and supported.
- Observe, assess and record children's progress and achievements.
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers, sharing information about children's development and daily experiences.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide outstanding care and education.
- Support small group activities and contribute positively to the day-to-day running of the nursery.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety and hygiene throughout the setting.
- Assist with outings and visits where required, ensuring all safety procedures are followed.
What We're Looking For
- A recognised childcare qualification, such as NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Early Years Childcare and Education (or equivalent).
- Previous experience working within a nursery or early years setting.
- A sound understanding of child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A caring, patient and enthusiastic approach to working with young children.
- The ability to work well as part of a team and contribute to a positive nursery culture.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and delivering high-quality early years education.
