Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety. Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
- Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicle components
- Read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and manuals to facilitate accurate repairs
- Carry out welding and fabrication tasks as required for bodywork or structural repairs
- Assist with assembly of vehicle parts during repairs or upgrades
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used for each vehicle
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and fluid replacements
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs needed and answering client queries
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Automotive Mechanic or similar role with a strong mechanical knowledge base
- Ability to read schematics, technical diagrams, and manuals accurately
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic machinery
- Knowledge of vehicle assembly processes and maintenance procedures
- Physical strength to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in automotive technology are desirable but not essential
