Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Hand/Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. This role involves assisting with meal preparation, maintaining high standards of food safety, and supporting the overall smooth running of our kitchen environment. Duties
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals in accordance with menu specifications and standards
- Support food presentation and plating to ensure visual appeal
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and equipment
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly followed
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping, peeling, and measuring
- Assist with stock rotation and inventory management
- Support serving staff during busy periods to ensure efficient service delivery
- Help with general cleaning duties within the kitchen area to uphold health standards
Requirements
- Previous experience in catering, restaurant, or food service environments is desirable
- Basic cooking skills and knowledge of meal preparation techniques
- Understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to various kitchen tasks
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends if necessary
