Job Description
Hunters lodge is a family owned Residential Care home is looking for an experienced and compassionate Senior Care Assistant who is aware of the importance of meeting the resident’s needs, offering person centered care whilst helping them maintain a good quality of life. We are looking for a committed individual who has excellent communication skills and is willing to work on their own or as part of a team. Our care staff are dedicated, hardworking and cheerful and we are looking for someone who would be an excellent fit within our team and to work together to enhance the quality of care and life within the home and the residents.
About Care Role:
- Full time, on a rota basis.
- Supporting older residents, people with dementia and or mental health
- Including every other weekend.
- Additional hours available to cover holidays etc
- Usual shift times are 7pm - 7am
Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead a small staff team
- Administer medication
- Liaising with medical professional and resident’s families (Usually in the case of emergencies)
- Supporting older residents, people with dementia and or mental health
- Assisting residents with personal care, including dressing, undressing, mobility, personal hygiene, eating and drinking.
- Document and report any changes in resident’s health status.
- Building care plans and evaluating care plans
- Provide person centered care.
- Ensure residents safety and well-being.
Qualifications and Skills
- NVQ level 2 or higher essential
- Experience of working with the elderly
- Good Communication skills
- Ability to work on their own or as part of a team
- The ideal candidate will have at least 1 years’ experience in the care of older people, Mental Health and preferably in a dementia care environment.
Wage
Salary: £14.60-£15.35 per Hour
