Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our vibrant care team. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality support to residents in a care home environment, ensuring their well-being, safety, and comfort are prioritized at all times. Your leadership skills and caring nature will help foster a warm, respectful atmosphere where residents feel valued and empowered. Responsibilities
- Deliver personalized care in accordance with individual care plans, promoting independence and dignity for each resident
- Supervise and support junior care staff, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure high standards of care delivery
- Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility, always maintaining respectful communication
- Monitor residents’ health status, report changes promptly, and liaise with healthcare professionals as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities, incidents, and medication administration using IT systems
- Lead the implementation of care plans, ensuring they are regularly reviewed and updated to meet evolving needs
- Support the safety of residents by conducting regular checks of the environment and adhering to health and safety protocols
- Drive the transportation of residents when required, ensuring safe driving practices and vehicle maintenance
Experience
- Proven experience working in a care home or senior care setting with a strong understanding of elderly care needs
- Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare or social care environment
- Familiarity with developing and implementing individual care plans tailored to residents’ needs
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to use IT systems for documentation, reporting, and updating resident records efficiently
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
- Valid driving license preferred for transporting residents safely when necessary
