Overview
Ferrari Groundworks Ltd is seeking a reliable, hardworking and physically fit Labourer/Groundworker to join our growing team. The successful candidate will assist with a wide range of groundworks and construction projects, including excavation, drainage, landscaping, fencing, concreting and general site duties.
This is a varied outdoor role offering the opportunity to learn new skills and gain experience operating plant and machinery while working alongside an experienced team. Previous experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided for the right candidate.
Duties
- Assisting with excavation, drainage and foundation works.
- Carrying out manual labour including lifting, loading and moving materials.
- Assisting with landscaping, fencing, paving and concreting projects.
- Operating hand tools, power tools and small plant safely.
- Assisting with excavators, dumpers and other machinery under supervision where appropriate.
- Preparing, maintaining and tidying construction sites.
- Loading and unloading materials, tools and equipment.
- Carrying out routine checks and basic maintenance of tools and machinery.
- Following health and safety procedures at all times.
- Working as part of a team to deliver projects to a high standard.
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
- Must be aged 25 or over for fleet insurance purposes.
- Previous experience in groundworks, construction or landscaping preferred but not essential.
- CIS registration is advantageous.
- Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual work in all weather conditions.
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
- Smart, polite and able to follow instructions.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer service.
This is a full-time position based on 35–40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the work, flexibility is essential, and occasional overtime or weekend work may be required.
The advertised rate reflects the National Minimum Wage for applicants aged 21 and over and is provided to meet advertising requirements. Actual hourly or day rates will be discussed with the successful applicant and will depend on experience.
The role will be offered on a self-employed basis in the first instance, with the opportunity to become employed following the successful completion of a six-month probationary period for the right candidate.
