Load Shovel Operator – Immediate Start
Location: Salt Ayre, Morecambe
Pay Rate: £14.00 per hour
Hours: 42 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Tuesday to Saturday
Start Time: 6:00am starts, with Saturday finishing at 1:00pm
Start Date: ASAP
About the Role
We are currently looking for an experienced Load Shovel Operator to join a leading waste management operation in Morecambe.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled operator looking for ongoing work with an established and reputable employer.
Immediate availability is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a loading shovel for the processing and loading of recyclable materials.
- Load and move waste and recyclable materials safely and efficiently.
- Carry out daily machinery and equipment checks and report any defects.
- Ensure waste is loaded correctly and safely.
- Promptly clear any spillages and maintain a clean working environment.
- Operate machinery responsibly while following all Health & Safety procedures.
- Support weighbridge administration duties when required.
- Work effectively as part of the wider waste management team.
Requirements Essential
- Valid Load Shovel licence/certificate.
- Previous experience operating a loading shovel.
- Good level of spoken and written English.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety procedures.
- Ability to operate machinery safely and responsibly.
- Reliable and punctual approach to work.
- Immediate availability preferred.
