The role
We’re looking for a Junior Social Media Content Creator to join our marketing team and help bring Aardvark Jewellery to life across social media.
This hands-on creative role will see you become one of the faces of Aardvark, producing engaging short-form videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. From developing and scripting ideas to filming, presenting and editing, you’ll be involved throughout the entire creative process.
Completed content will be delivered to the Head of Social Media for inclusion in the wider content calendar, helping us grow our online community, strengthen the Aardvark brand and connect with customers in an authentic, entertaining and relevant way.
A strong awareness of emerging trends will be key, alongside the ability to turn ideas into content that feels right for each platform, our audience and the Aardvark brand.
What you’ll be doing
Working closely with the Head of Social Media and the wider marketing team, you’ll:
- Create social-first video content for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts
- Confidently present content on camera as one of the faces of Aardvark Jewellery
- Develop, script, film and edit content from the initial idea to the final, ready-to-publish video
- Adapt content and creative approaches for different social platforms
- Identify relevant trends, cultural moments and reactive content opportunities
- Contribute ideas during creative planning sessions and present new concepts to the team
- Work with our sales team and company owner to understand our customers, products and commercial priorities
- Review content performance and use insights to improve future videos
- Help maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across our social channels
- Support the wider marketing team with campaigns and administrative tasks when required
- Attend occasional events or filming sessions outside standard working hours, where required
What you’ll bring
This role would suit someone looking for a new creative challenge and the opportunity to develop their skills within a growing jewellery brand.
You’ll ideally have:
- 2+ years experience creating social media content, supported by a portfolio, showreel or examples of your work
- Strong filming and editing skills, particularly for short-form video
- Confidence presenting and speaking naturally on camera
- Experience using tools such as CapCut, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud or similar creative software
- A strong understanding of TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts and wider social media culture
- An awareness of current trends and an interest in areas such as jewellery, fashion and retail
- Strong storytelling, written communication and presentation skills
- A creative mindset with an eye for visual detail
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- A collaborative approach and a willingness to receive and respond to feedback
- A basic understanding of social media analytics and performance metrics
Jewellery experience
Previous experience in the jewellery industry would be an advantage, but it isn’t essential. We’ll provide the product knowledge and support you need.
You should, however, be comfortable learning technical information, working from scripts and explaining products clearly and confidently on camera.
How we’ll support you
Aardvark is home to a team of creative people with different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. You’ll be encouraged to experiment, share ideas and develop your own creative style while receiving support and guidance from the wider marketing team.
You’ll benefit from:
- A supportive and collaborative working environment
- Guidance from an experienced marketing team
- Opportunities to develop your creative, social media and marketing skills
- Experience contributing to campaigns for a growing consumer brand
- The freedom to test new ideas and learn from content performance
- An opportunity to progress in your social media marketing career
