Operations Supervisor

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, an established and successful British manufacturer based in Corby, who is looking for an experienced Operations Supervisor to join their growing team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on leader who enjoys working with people, improving processes and making a real difference to day-to-day operations.
The Role
Reporting to the Operations Director, you will play a key role in the smooth running of the manufacturing operation and Sales Desk.
You will lead and support a team of approximately 10–15 employees, coordinating workloads, improving efficiency and ensuring high standards are maintained across production and customer order processing.
This is a varied role where no two days are the same, with the opportunity to influence processes, develop people and help drive continuous improvement throughout the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop Production and Sales Desk teams.
- Plan and prioritise workloads to ensure customer orders and production schedules are delivered on time.
- Support the Operations Director with the day-to-day running of the operation.
- Monitor team performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Drive continuous improvement across production, workflow and workplace organisation.
- Improve Sales Desk processes, communication and customer service.
- Ensure effective communication between Production, Sales and other departments.
- Identify and resolve operational issues quickly and effectively.
- Provide regular feedback to the Operations Director on performance and improvement opportunities.
- Promote a positive, collaborative and accountable working environment.
- Ensure high standards of quality, efficiency, health and safety are maintained.
About You
We are looking for a confident and proactive leader with previous supervisory or team leadership experience, ideally within manufacturing, engineering or a similar operational environment.
You will be organised, commercially aware and comfortable managing competing priorities. Most importantly, you will have a hands-on approach, strong communication skills and a genuine desire to improve the way a business operates.
Ideally, you will have:
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Manufacturing or engineering experience.
- Strong people management and communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities.
- A practical approach to problem solving.
- Experience of continuous improvement.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and business/production systems.
- A hands-on attitude and ability to lead by example.
Desirable experience includes: Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, ERP/MRP systems, Health & Safety or supervisory qualifications, and precision manufacturing.
What’s on Offer?
£38,000–£42,000 per annum, depending on experience
Monday–Thursday: 8:00am–5:00pm
Friday: 8:00am–4:00pm
39 hours per week
