Working hours: Monday – Friday 9:00 – 18:00
Annual leave: 25 days plus bank holidays, plus time off over Christmas
Salary: £25,000 - £27,000 experience dependant

As the practice continues to grow, we are looking to welcome an Office Administrator – Receptionist into our team — a highly organised, client-focused individual who takes pride in keeping operations running smoothly and ensuring every client interaction is handled with professionalism and care.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and dependable office administrator to join a friendly, fast-paced accountancy practice. Based in Selby, you will be the operational backbone of the office — managing client communications, supporting compliance processes, and providing broad administrative support to the wider team.
You will play a vital role in the day-to-day running of the practice, working closely with colleagues to ensure clients receive an efficient and high-quality service at every stage.

What Success Looks Like
- A stable, well-led site with clear standards, strong team morale, and consistent delivery.
- Improved client experience: fewer escalations, stronger retention, and proactive relationship management.
- Operational improvements implemented (workflows, QA, reporting) that scale with acquisitions.
Key responsibilities
- Manage incoming office calls, directing queries to the appropriate team member
- Oversee the admin inbox, ensuring timely and accurate responses to all correspondence
- Delegate client queries to relevant team members as required
- Maintain and update company software systems, ensuring records are accurate and current
- Support client onboarding and offboarding processes, including documentation and compliance checks Support clients with software setups and act as a point of contact for related queries
- Raise client invoices and assist with billing queries in a prompt and professional manner
- Chase outstanding invoice payments and escalate where necessary
- Perform HMRC-related duties including portal management and PAYE, VAT, and Self-Assessment registrations
- Manage Companies House submissions and filings for clients, including CS01s and DS01s
- Assist with basic accounting functions such as bookkeeping and data input
- Perform general day-to-day administration duties, including but not limited to the above
Required skills
- Previous experience in a receptionist, administrative, or office support role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Competent with key Microsoft Office programmes, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively in a busy environment Professional, approachable, and client-focused attitude
- Outstanding customer service orientation with a genuine desire to help others
- High level of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities
- Collaborative team player who supports colleagues and contributes to a positive office atmosphere
