Salary - £26,000 - £29,000 dependant on experience
Location - Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, DN16 1XA
Pattern of Work – 36.5 hours, Monday - Friday
What you need to know about the role
In this role as a Day Chemist, you’ll be part of a close-knit team responsible for conducting laboratory analyses across a range of product and process samples. You’ll manage samples through the lab workflow, ensuring turnaround times are met and preventing delays in testing or product release.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to strict Health, Safety & Environmental (HS&E) standards and demonstrate an understanding of CoSHH regulations.
- Conduct routine laboratory testing in line with operational procedures.
- Participate in internal and external audits to maintain compliance and quality assurance.
- Maintain calibration and equipment maintenance records in accordance with site policy and ISO 17025 requirements.
- Engage in training and development activities to support continuous improvement and professional growth.
What we need to know about you
We’re looking for someone who brings both technical skill and a strong sense of accountability to the role. You should have:
- A foundation degree or higher in a relevant technical science discipline or significant experience working in an analytical laboratory environment.
- A solid understanding of chemical analysis methods, particularly relating to water and fuels (preferred).
- Practical knowledge of operating, maintaining and troubleshooting a variety of laboratory analysers.
- A methodical, process-driven approach and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
