Service Design & Transition Specialist – Contract (6–12 Months)

We're looking for an experienced Service Design & Transition Specialist to support a key client on an exciting contract assignment.
This role offers the opportunity to lead the transition of a critical project into Business-as-Usual (BAU) support while designing a repeatable Service Design & Transition framework that will support future programmes across the organisation.
What You'll Be Doing

Lead the successful transition of a live project into BAU support.

Review current IT service management practices and identify improvement opportunities.

Develop a reusable Service Design & Transition methodology, including templates, governance and best practices.

Ensure operational readiness through effective planning, documentation and stakeholder engagement.

Build strong relationships with business and IT stakeholders and provide regular progress updates.
Working Arrangements
This is a UK-based contract opportunity. The role is primarily remote, with regular on-site attendance (typically 1–2 days per week) required to work closely with key stakeholders during critical phases of the engagement.

Requirements
What We're Looking For

Proven experience in Service Design and/or Service Transition within complex IT environments.

Strong track record of transitioning projects into BAU support.

Experience reviewing and improving IT service management processes.

Knowledge of ITIL Service Management (ITIL Foundation minimum).

Excellent stakeholder management, communication and facilitation skills.

Experience creating practical frameworks, documentation and governance processes.

Available to start immediately and commit to an initial 6–12 month contract.
