We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, and self-motivated Bank Chef to support our kitchen team on a flexible, as-needed basis. You'll play a vital role in providing our residents with delicious, nutritious meals while helping create a positive dining experience every day.
About the Role
As a Bank Chef, you will:
- Prepare, cook, and present high-quality, nutritious meals.
- Maintain exceptional standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and kitchen safety.
- Support the Head Chef in planning and delivering seasonal, varied menus.
- Cater for residents with specialist dietary requirements, including modified texture diets (IDDSI knowledge is desirable).
- Supervise and support junior chefs and kitchen assistants.
- Deputise for the Head Chef when required.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience working in a professional kitchen.
- Is passionate about producing high-quality, home-style meals.
- Works well both independently and as part of a team.
- Has excellent food hygiene and safety knowledge.
- Has experience within a care home setting (desirable but not essential).
- Has knowledge of IDDSI or is willing to learn.

Welwyn Grange is a new care home , set within the heart of the community in Welwyn Garden City. We will be bringing a fresher approach to residential, nursing and support.
