Responsibilities of the post:
SEND Support and Provision:
· Support the implementation of the school’s SEND strategy, policy and graduated approach, in line with the SEND Code of Practice and Equality Act.
· Assist with the day-to-day coordination of SEND provision, ensuring support plans are implemented consistently and reviewed regularly.
· Act as a key point of contact for SEND-related queries, working closely with students, parents/carers, staff and external agencies.
· Support the planning and delivery of targeted interventions for students with SEND, including those with EHCPs.
· Promote inclusion and ensure students with SEND can access the curriculum, enrichment and wider school life.
Assessment, Monitoring and Review
· Support the identification, assessment and review of students with SEND, contributing to Assess – Plan – Do – Review cycles.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date SEND records, including the SEND Register, provision maps, ILPs and one-page profiles, using school systems (e.g. Eduspot).
· Carry out Annual Reviews, EHCP documentation and review meetings, ensuring information is prepared accurately and on time.
· Monitor progress and engagement of students with SEND, contributing to reports, data analysis and review meetings.
Working with Staff and Families:
· Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to adapt teaching approaches, resources and behaviour strategies to meet individual needs.
· Provide advice and practical support to staff to promote high expectations, inclusive practice and positive behaviour.
· Build strong, trusting relationships with parents/carers, supporting communication, review meetings and shared planning for students’ needs.
Training, Development and Quality Assurance
· Support the SENDCo in delivering SEND-related CPD, briefings and guidance for staff.
· Contribute to SEND monitoring activities, including provision reviews, learning walks or work scrutiny, as directed.
· Keep up to date with relevant SEND guidance and local practice, sharing information with colleagues as appropriate.
Support to the SENDCo / Head of Inclusion
· Meet regularly with the SENDCo to discuss referrals, admissions, provision planning and priorities.
· Assist with responses to referrals, admissions queries and EHCP consultations within statutory and organisational timescales.
· Support the development and review of provision maps and support proposals.
Leadership and Professional Responsibilities:
- Line manage and coach support staff through appraisal, supervision and CPD.
- Model high expectations, inclusive practice and professional conduct aligned with school and company values.
· Safeguard and promote the welfare of the young people.
· Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality.
· Uphold and contribute to the development of ES policies, procedures and staff code of conduct.
- Participate in appraisal, supervision and continuous professional development.
- Access 1:1 coaching and support.
· Provide timely responses to emails or requests for information.
· Manage your online calendar and ensure important deadlines are met, seeking support where required.
· Attend all scheduled company training days, team coaching, INSET Days and meetings as required.
· Attend ES Team Awards ceremony held annually each December.
· Undertake any other duties that may be required commensurate with the scale and function of the post
