We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Service Manager, Aftersales Manager or senior automotive professional to take a leading role within our established independent Porsche specialist.
This is a senior, hands-on and predominantly customer-facing role, with responsibility for the day-to-day running of the business, our customer experience and the performance of our service operation.
You will be supported by a Parts & Workshop Controller, who is responsible for the day-to-day flow of work through the workshop, parts ordering and supporting our technicians. This allows you to concentrate on our customers, quotations, bookings, team leadership and ensuring the business operates effectively.
Established in March 2012, we have built a large and loyal customer base and an excellent reputation within the Porsche community. We are a small, close-knit team that prides itself on quality workmanship, straightforward advice and personal service.
The Role
You will be the main point of contact for our customers and take overall responsibility for their experience from initial enquiry through to collection of their vehicle.
You'll work closely with the Parts & Workshop Controller to make sure what we promise our customers can be delivered by the workshop.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Manage the complete customer journey, from initial enquiry and understanding requirements through to quotations, booking, ongoing updates, authorising additional work and vehicle collection.
- Build strong customer relationships, providing knowledgeable, straightforward advice, resolving any concerns professionally and helping develop new business.
- Work closely with the Parts & Workshop Controller to coordinate bookings, workload and timescales, ensuring commitments made to customers can be delivered by the workshop.
- Lead and support the service and administration team, overseeing the day-to-day running of the business and maintaining high standards of customer service and performance.
- Drive continuous improvement and business development, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, systems and the customer experience while working with the owners to help shape and grow the business.
About You
We are looking for someone who combines strong motor trade experience with excellent people skills.
You will ideally:
- Have strong motor trade experience in a Service Manager, Aftersales Manager, Senior Service Advisor, Workshop Manager or similar role.
- Be confident dealing with customers, with good automotive technical knowledge and the ability to explain repairs, servicing and quotations clearly.
- Be highly organised and commercially aware, with the ability to manage multiple customers, jobs and priorities effectively.
- Have experience managing or supporting a small team and be proactive, decisive and comfortable taking responsibility.
- Be professional, detail-focused and comfortable using computer systems, with a good sense of humour and an ability to work well within a small, close-knit team.
Previous Porsche experience would be an advantage, but is not essential. Strong motor trade experience, customer skills and the ability to lead are more important.
What We're Looking For
This role would particularly suit someone who has progressed through service advising or workshop management and is looking for more responsibility.
It isn't a traditional main-dealer management position. We are a small independent business, so you'll need to be happy getting involved, solving problems and taking ownership rather than passing things on to another department.
In return, you'll have the opportunity to play an important part in an established business and have genuine input into how it develops.
