Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Prepper/Painter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces and applying paint to various structures, ensuring high-quality finishes and adherence to safety standards. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in painting and surface preparation within a supportive environment. The ideal applicant will possess mechanical knowledge, experience with hand and power tools, and the physical strength to handle heavy lifting tasks.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Mix paints and other materials according to specifications
- Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently during preparation and painting processes
- Assist with surface repairs and minor carpentry tasks as needed
- Ensure work areas are kept clean and organised throughout the project
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times, including proper handling of materials and equipment
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards
Qualifications
- Previous experience in prep work or painting is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for understanding equipment and tools used in the role
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools required for surface preparation and painting tasks
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely on a regular basis
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Physically fit with the ability to work in various weather conditions if working outdoors
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn new skills
