Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and caring Lunch Time Nursery Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting the daily activities of young children during their lunchtime, ensuring their safety, well-being, and enjoyment. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine interest in early childhood development and be able to create a nurturing environment for children aged. Previous nursery experience and childcare knowledge are highly desirable. This position offers an opportunity to contribute positively to children's early learning experiences within a supportive team setting.
Duties
- Supervising children during lunchtime, ensuring they eat safely and appropriately
- Assisting children with their meals, encouraging good table manners and independence
- Engaging children in age-appropriate activities that promote socialisation and development
- Maintaining a clean and hygienic environment, including sanitising tables and play areas after use
- Supporting children's emotional needs, offering reassurance and comfort as needed
- Collaborating with nursery staff to ensure smooth transition between activities and routines
- Monitoring children's behaviour and reporting any concerns to senior staff
- Assisting with light organisational tasks related to lunchtime routines and activities
Skills
- Experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is preferred
- Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude towards young children
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and follow instructions accurately
