Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our childcare facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children, and fostering positive relationships with parents and guardians. This role requires strong leadership skills, a passion for early childhood education, and the ability to organise and supervise nursery activities effectively. The Nursery Manager will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of childcare and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage nursery staff, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate programmes that promote children's development and learning.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the nursery at all times.
- Maintain effective communication with parents, guardians, and external agencies regarding children's progress and any concerns.
- Oversee daily operations, including planning activities, managing resources, and ensuring cleanliness and organisation of the nursery environment.
- Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and early childhood education standards.
- Organise staff rotas, oversee recruitment processes, and conduct performance appraisals.
- Manage administrative tasks such as record keeping, invoicing, and reporting as required.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of childcare services provided.
Requirements
- Proven management experience within a nursery or childcare setting.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Extensive knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare regulations.
- Experience working directly with children and understanding their developmental needs.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to organise multiple tasks efficiently whilst maintaining attention to detail.
- Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate organisational responsibilities outside the nursery premises.

Pay: £25,615.21-£45,650.97 per year
