Support Worker – Full-Time and Part-Time

Pay: £12.71 per hour

Hours: Full-time and part-time positions available
Shifts: Days, evenings, weekends, bank holidays and, where required, sleep-in or waking-night shifts
About the role
We are recruiting compassionate and reliable Support Workers to join our supported living service in Bristol.
You will support adults with learning disabilities and/or mental health conditions to live in their own home, develop confidence and build greater independence. You will provide person-centred support that promotes choice, dignity, privacy, rights and participation.
Previous care experience is welcome but is not essential. Full induction and training will be provided.
Key responsibilities
Your duties may include:
- Supporting people to develop independent living skills, including cleaning and tidying, laundry, meal planning and cooking, shopping, budgeting and managing personal finances.
- Supporting people with medication in accordance with their individual care plans, medication protocols, training and assessed competency.
- Encouraging participation in meaningful activities, hobbies and community opportunities.
- Supporting people to attend appointments and liaising with health and social care professionals when required.
- Maintaining accurate and timely records, including daily notes, care plans, risk assessments and other relevant documentation.
- Promoting choice, dignity, independence and positive risk-taking.
- Working constructively with colleagues, families and professionals.
- Following safeguarding, health and safety, infection prevention and control, confidentiality and data protection procedures.
Important: This role does not involve hands-on personal care. It may involve verbal prompts, encouragement and support to help individuals follow their personal care routines, in accordance with their care plans.
About you
You will be:
- Compassionate, respectful, patient and committed to safeguarding.
- Able to communicate clearly and build trusting, professional relationships.
- Reliable, organised and able to follow care plans, risk assessments and agreed procedures.
- Willing to work flexibly across a rota, including weekends, bank holidays and, where required, sleep-in or waking-night shifts.
- Able to maintain professional boundaries and respect confidentiality.
- Willing to complete all required training and development.
You do not need previous care experience, as full training and induction will be provided.
Desirable, but not essential
- Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism and/or mental health conditions.
- An NVQ or Diploma in Health and Social Care at Level 2 or 3, or a willingness to work towards one.
