We are looking for a talented, passionate and organised Pastry Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled or up and coming pastry chef who takes pride in producing exceptional desserts, pastries, breads, and afternoon tea mini delights while contributing to a positive and professional kitchen culture.
Working closely with the Head Pastry Chef and Executive Chef, you will play a key role in delivering outstanding products, maintaining the highest food safety standards and supporting the continued success of our pastry operation.
Key Responsibilities
People
- Work collaboratively with the pastry and wider kitchen team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
- Support, coach and encourage Commis Chefs and Apprentices, promoting learning and development.
- Lead by example through professionalism, reliability and a positive attitude.
- Maintain excellent communication with colleagues across all departments.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, respect, and accountability.
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety, Food Safety, and HACCP procedures.
Planning
- Prepare and organise your section to ensure efficient daily service.
- Assist with production planning for restaurant service, events, afternoon tea and banqueting.
- Ensure mise en place is completed to the highest standard and on time.
- Support stock ordering, stock rotation and inventory management.
- Help develop seasonal menus and contribute creative ideas for new desserts and pastry items.
Product
- Produce consistently high-quality desserts, pastries, breads, petit fours and other pastry items to company standards.
- Ensure all products are presented beautifully and consistently.
- Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness and food hygiene throughout the pastry kitchen.
- Monitor product quality throughout preparation and service.
- Ensure recipes and portion sizes are followed accurately to maintain consistency.
- Assist in menu tastings, recipe development and quality improvements.
Profit
- Minimise food waste through careful planning and stock management.
- Follow recipes and portion controls to achieve food cost targets.
- Report stock shortages and equipment issues promptly.
- Help maximise productivity through effective organisation and preparation.
- Support the business in achieving financial targets while maintaining outstanding quality.
About You
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Pastry Chef de Partie or an experienced Demi Chef de Partie/ Commis Chef ready for the next step.
- Strong pastry and baking skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience in a quality hotel, restaurant, or events environment.
- Good understanding of food hygiene and allergen management.
- A positive, can-do attitude with excellent organisational skills.
- The ability to perform well under pressure while maintaining high standards.
- A genuine passion for pastry, creativity and continuous improvement.

Pay: £30,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
