CarGem is looking for a highly organised and proactive Workshop Controller to oversee the day-to-day operations of our busy workshop. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced automotive professional to coordinate workshop activities, maximise productivity, and ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer service.
Working closely with our technicians and sales team, you'll play a key role in ensuring repairs and servicing are completed efficiently and to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and allocate work to the workshop team to maximise efficiency and productivity.
- Monitor the progress of ongoing jobs, ensuring deadlines and customer commitments are met.
- Drive workshop performance and productivity, ensuring key performance indicators (KPIs) are consistently achieved.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship through effective quality control.
- Work closely with the sales controllers to provide accurate updates on vehicle progress and estimated completion times.
- Support, coach, and motivate technicians to foster a positive, high-performing team environment.
- Ensure all workshop activities comply with company policies and current health and safety legislation.
- Help maintain an organised, safe, and efficient workshop environment.
Skills & Experience
- A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Workshop Controller or in a similar senior workshop supervisory role.
- Strong technical knowledge of vehicle servicing, maintenance, and repair procedures.
- Previous experience within a dealership or a busy, high-volume workshop is desirable.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate a team while driving operational performance.
- Customer-focused with strong commercial awareness and excellent attention to detail.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary of up to £45,000 including bonuses.

Working Hours
- Full-time, permanent
- Monday to Friday: 9:00am–6:00pm
- Alternating Saturdays: 9:00am–6:00pm
