We require a delivery driver with a class 2/ category C licence or greater to drive our 7.0ton dropside delivery vehicle.
We are looking for someone to join our team who is fit, has good time keeping and good knowledge of the local area.
The role will consist of:
- Delivering materials from our yard to customers in a safe and professional manner.
- Making contact with our customers keeping them updated of their delivery time.
- Working together with other staff to proactively create a safe working environment.
- Loading the vehicle in the yard - it will be the drivers responsibility to ensure the vehicle is loaded correctly by use of forklift while working with the yard staff. Then unloaded at each drop. (non-mechanical offload), safe and in line with road, transport and Health & Safety legislation.
- Presenting a good company image.
About You:
- Must show initiative, drive and self-motivation.
- Excellent communications skills
- Knowledge of timber products is desirable, but not essential.
- Health & safety awareness is paramount.
- Need to be adaptable and thrive in a dynamic environment.
- Driver's must be professional whilst on the road and with customers at all times.
- Candidate must be self-motivated and have the ability to work on their own and as part of a team.
- Must take good care of company vehicles.
- C licence or greater is required with no more than 3 points.
- CPC licence required
- Digital tachograph card required.
- Forklift licence would be of benefit, but not necessarily required as training can be given.
- An understanding of the local area would be helpful.
- Our insurance covers driver’s aged 30 and older.
The role would be a full-time permanent position.
Hourly rate of £14.50 per hour with a loyalty bonus of £500 after the first 12 months of service.
Working Hours would be 7.00 to 4.00pm Monday to Friday. Earlier starts for further away deliveries are required as and when.
Saturday shifts may be required but not often, usually over spill deliveries from the Friday during high season, March to June.
