General Foreman - Night Shifts - Sizewell C - Suffolk Site based Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C
As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This role will be within the Enabling and Earthwork Section.
What will you do?
To provide leadership and control of a team comprising, General Foremen. Section Foremen, Junior Foremen and Gangers for the Enabling works team.
Experience in controlling night shift teams including specialist sub-contractors.
Earthworks experience.
P,Q, and structural concrete experience.
Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately · Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes with clarity; experienced at encouraging direct reports to do the same and managing a team to ensure tasks are carried out effectively and key messages cascaded · Strong work ethic with flexibility to work unsociable hours/nights, as required by the programme · Able to work on own initiative and seek out opportunities in line with level of responsibility
What are we looking for?
Essential
- Capable of taking ownership of the works or a section of the works from start to finish, including the handover of the works
- Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately
- Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes
- Strong work ethic with flexibility to work unsociable hours/nights
- Able to work on own initiative and seek out opportunities in line with level of responsibility
- Holds a current driving license and CSCS Card
- SMSTS
- Must be a good team player, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
Desired:
- Experience working within environmental protected sites
- Experience in one of more of the following disciplines: ground improvement techniques,
earthworks, drainage, structures
42 hours per week
