OCU Energy is looking for an experienced HV Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of high voltage electrical and energy infrastructure projects from planning through to completion.
The role will involve managing complex HV projects across the energy and utilities sector, with responsibility for programme, commercial performance, resources, contractors, stakeholders and overall project delivery.
You will work across a range of projects including BESS, substations, underground cabling and associated electrical and M&E infrastructure, working closely with DNOs, ICPs, clients and delivery teams.

Lead the end-to-end delivery of HV and energy infrastructure projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
- Manage project scope, programme, resources, budgets and commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Deliver projects involving BESS, HV substations, underground cabling, M&E packages and associated electrical infrastructure.
- Manage and coordinate multiple contractors, subcontractors and specialist delivery teams across live projects.
- Develop and manage project programmes using P6, monitoring progress and implementing recovery plans where required.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, DNOs, ICPs, contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Provide effective technical and operational oversight across HV electrical works, including substations, switchgear, transformers and associated infrastructure.
- Identify, manage and mitigate project risks, ensuring appropriate controls are in place throughout delivery.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, reporting and records while ensuring compliance with company procedures, contractual requirements and relevant legislation
- Proven experience as a Project Manager within HV, electrical, energy, utilities or infrastructure projects.
- Strong experience delivering high voltage electrical infrastructure, ideally within the 33kV–132kV environment.
- Experience working on substations, underground cabling, BESS or major electrical infrastructure projects.
- Experience working within DNO, ICP, utilities or major construction environments.
- Proven experience managing contractors, subcontractors and multiple project stakeholders.
- Strong programme and project management capability.
- Experience using P6 or similar project planning software.
- Strong understanding of project budgets, commercial performance, risk and programme management.
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced project environment.
- Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline.
- Project Management qualification such as PRINCE2 or equivalent.
- Experience working on BESS/EESS projects.
- Experience with 132kV substations and associated grid connection works.
- Experience working across electrical, M&E and civils interfaces.
- HV Authorised Person experience or a strong understanding of HV operational requirements.
- Experience working directly with DNOs and ICPs.
