EXPERIENCED BEAUTY & SPA THERAPIST

The Essence Skin Care Specialist & Day Spa is looking for a qualified and preferably experienced Beauty & Spa Therapist to join our friendly, professional team.
Established in 1994, The Essence is a busy and well-respected salon and day spa in the heart of Renfrew. We offer everything from everyday beauty maintenance to advanced skincare, specialist treatments and luxurious spa experiences.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident therapist who enjoys variety, takes pride in delivering excellent treatments and genuinely cares about giving every client a warm, professional experience.
THE ROLE
You will carry out a varied range of beauty, body and spa treatments, depending on your qualifications and experience. These may include:
- Facials and skincare treatments
- Swedish, aromatherapy and hot stone massage
- Waxing, including facial, body and intimate waxing
- Manicures, pedicures, gel polish and BIAB
- Lash and brow treatments
- Body treatments and spa rituals
- Japanese Head Spa treatments
- Client consultations, treatment planning and aftercare advice
- Recommending suitable homecare products and future treatments
- Maintaining excellent hygiene, presentation and treatment-room standards
- Supporting reception and the wider salon team when required
We also provide advanced treatments including CACI, microdermabrasion, professional skin peels, microneedling, Electrolysis, advanced electrolysis and specialist facial programmes. Previous experience in any of these treatments would be an advantage, but is not essential, as additional training may be provided to the right candidate.
ABOUT YOU
The successful applicant should:
- Hold a recognised Beauty Therapy qualification—ideally HNC, HND or equivalent
- Preferably have previous salon or spa experience
- Be confident in massage, facials and waxing
- Be friendly, reliable and professional
- Have excellent client-care and communication skills
- Be able to carry out consistently high-quality treatments
- Feel comfortable recommending treatments and appropriate homecare products
- Work well both independently and as part of a busy team
- Be willing to learn and develop additional treatment skills
- Take pride in cleanliness, presentation and attention to detail
- Be dependable and committed to building strong, lasting client relationships
HOURS
We are open to both full-time and part-time applicants.
Applicants must be available to work a combination of daytime hours, late evenings and weekends. Weekend and evening availability is an essential part of this position, as these are some of our busiest periods.

PAY
From £12.80 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications, NEST work place pension scheme.
