Based out of our Wembley facility, the Equipment Technician is an essential member of Sunbelt Film & TV's Film Lighting Division. Working under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor and Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the physical handling, preparation, dispatch and return of film lighting & event technology equipment, focusing on all aspects of network and control technology, You will work with an extensive inventory of industry leading equipment from manufacturers including Grand Ma , Luminex and ChamSys and other professional entertainment lighting brands. You'll ensure all equipment is fully tested, updated with the latest firmware and software, and prepared to the highest standards for film, television, live events and broadcast productions. This role requires a practical, hands-on approach, attention to detail and a commitment to delivering cutting edge technology in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, configure and quality check lighting control, networking and event technology equipment in accordance with production schedules and job sheets.
- Ensure all equipment firmware, software and operating systems are updated to the latest approved versions before dispatch.
- Support with the loading and unloading of vehicles, ensuring equipment is handled safely and correctly while meeting Company deadlines and customer requirements
- Process returned equipment by scanning, checking, cleaning and PAT testing in line with company procedures.
- Identify, record and report any damaged, faulty or missing equipment, ensuring maintenance requirements are communicated promptly.
- Carry out first-line maintenance, basic fault diagnosis and minor repairs on lighting equipment where appropriate.
- Ensure the department is kept clean and safe at all times in line with company standards.
- Support freelance technicians and production crews during equipment collections, returns and load-ins.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Experience working within a warehouse or logistics environment. (Essential)
- A practical interest in or working knowledge of film and television production equipment. (Desirable)
- Familiarity with film lighting equipment – including LED fixtures, tungsten, HMI and grip accessories. . (Desirable)
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines. (Essential)
- Good attention to detail with accurate record-keeping skills. (Essential)
The role is based in Wembley. The role will require early starts, late finishes and weekend working in line with Company policy.
