Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in food preparation and cooking, with a keen eye for food safety and hygiene standards. Duties
- Assist in food preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Support senior chefs with daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow during service periods
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, adhering to food safety regulations
- Supervise junior staff members where necessary, providing guidance and support in food production tasks
- Ensure all ingredients are stored correctly and stock levels are maintained efficiently
- Contribute to menu development ideas and presentation of dishes to meet quality standards
- Assist in serving food to customers when required, ensuring excellent customer service
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently, including proper handling of equipment and ingredients
Experience
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen or restaurant environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Supervising experience or team management skills are advantageous but not mandatory
- Proven competence in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices within a hospitality setting
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and basic culinary skills gained through hospitality or culinary training programmes
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with strong organisational skills is preferred
- A genuine interest in culinary arts, with the motivation to learn and grow within the industry
Pay: £12.71-£16.00 per hour
