Job Summary
Delamere Forest Golf Club is one of the finest heathland courses in the country and a long-standing fixture in the national Top 100. The clubhouse and its food offer are held to the same standard as the golf, and the club is now recruiting a Head Chef to take full ownership of the kitchen and lead the catering operation from the front.
This is a chef's role in the truest sense. Delamere Forest is not looking for someone to reheat and assemble. It is looking for a genuine cook who takes pride in producing an elevated offer made largely from scratch, from the bread upwards. The menu is deliberately concise: a small, seasonal, well-made carte of the kind you would expect to find in one of the best golf clubs in the country, executed to a consistently high standard every service rather than a long list done adequately.
Alongside the day-to-day clubhouse trade, Delamere Forest has a strong events business: club dinners, matches, society and corporate days, and private functions, all of which the Head Chef will plan for and cater personally to the same standard as the à la carte offer. The role carries full accountability for every area of the kitchen and catering operation: food quality and consistency, kitchen standards, food safety, cost control, procurement and team leadership. It reports directly to the House Manager and works as one team with front of house to deliver a joined-up member and guest experience.
A live-in position, this is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious chef who wants the autonomy to run a kitchen their way, the platform of a Top 100 club to cook to their potential, and a supportive management structure behind them.
The position is full time, including weekends, evenings and bank holidays as required by a seven-day golf club operation with an active and engaged membership.
