At Henshaws, we believe every child and young person should have the opportunity to develop confidence, independence, and the skills they need to thrive. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed CYP Enablement Officer to join our Children and Young People (CYP) team, helping to deliver inspiring activities, programmes, and experiences for blind and visually impaired children and young people.
In this rewarding role, you will coordinate and deliver a range of CYP activities during school holidays and weekends, as well as supporting residential programmes and other exciting projects throughout the year. Working closely with children, young people, their families, and colleagues, you will create positive and meaningful experiences that encourage participation, build confidence, and foster independence.
You will play a key role in developing trusting relationships with families, ensuring they feel supported and engaged with the opportunities available. As part of a dedicated and fast-paced team, you will also gather feedback, contribute to programme reports, and help demonstrate the impact and outcomes of our services.

Salary £14.20 per hour/£25844 per annum
Hours: 35 per week
Contract 52 week
Holidays 5 weeks plus 10 bank holidays

We’re looking for someone who:

Is IT literate and confident communicating with children, families and colleagues

Has great time management and organisational skills

Holds (or is willing to work towards) a relevant qualification in childcare, youth work or education

Has experience supporting children and young people with disabilities

Understands safeguarding and confidentiality

Can work flexibly, including evenings and weekends (with time off in lieu)

Has access to a vehicle for work purposes (desirable)
