This role offers a unique opportunity to travel internationally throughout the year. You will support approximately 7 international sales per year, with each project lasting up to three weeks. When not travelling, you will assist with sales activities in your local showroom.
The Assistant Cashier Manager plays a key role in supporting the Cashier Manager with the day-to-day cashiering operations of the showroom. Working in a fast-paced and high-volume environment, you will help oversee a large team of temporary cashiers, ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of customer transactions while maintaining the highest standards of customer service.
You will support the management of cashiering procedures, assist with team training and performance, and help ensure all sales transactions are completed accurately and in line with company processes. Working closely with the wider showroom team, you will contribute to delivering a seamless customer experience and the overall success of each sale event.
Team Management
- Assist in managing and supervising a team of temporary cashiers in a fast-paced sales environment.
- Deliver comprehensive training to temporary team members on cashiering procedures, customer service standards, and operational processes prior to each sale event.
- Train and onboard new team members, providing ongoing coaching and support to drive performance.
- Ensure the team understands and follows both Arlettie procedures and any brand-specific requirements.
- Lead and motivate the team through regular briefings, communicating key processes, operational updates, and sales targets.
- Monitor team performance and provide feedback to maintain high standards of accuracy and customer service.
Till Management
• Support the day-to-day management of tills, customer queries, and security at the cash desk.
- Oversee cash handling procedures, investigating and resolving till discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Manage cash reconciliation and ensure all transactions are processed accurately and in line with company procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all financial controls and cashiering processes.
Administration
- Upload pricing to the till system and prepare point-of-sale materials, including pricing signage, using information provided by the Project Manager.
- Liaise with Project Managers regarding commercial activities, including sales performance.
- Gather and report customer feedback to the management team to support the success of each sale event.
- Ensure checkout areas are maintained to the highest standards of organisation, cleanliness, and presentation.
- Implement and uphold company policies, procedures, and operational standards.
- Support inventory management and the ordering of supplies for the cashiering area.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a cashiering, retail operations, or customer service role within a high-volume retail environment.
- Previous experience supervising or leading a team is highly desirable.
- Strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail, with the ability to manage cash handling processes accurately.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Proven ability to motivate, train, and support team members in a fast-paced environment.
- Commercially minded, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure while managing multiple priorities.
- Reliable, professional, and highly accountable.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
International Travel Requirements:
This role involves extensive international travel, supporting approximately 7 sale events per year across multiple global locations.
Each event may last up to 3 weeks.
Candidates must be comfortable spending extended periods away from home and working in a fast-paced, travel-intensive environment.
Must be eligible to travel internationally and hold (or be able to obtain) any required visas and travel documentation.
