Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tablet Press Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating tablet pressing machinery to produce high-quality tablets efficiently and safely.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in operating tablet compression equipment.
- Ideally experienced with pharmaceutical, nutraceutical or food supplement products.
- Familiar with tablet compression parameters such as weight, hardness, thickness and compression force.
- Able to identify and troubleshoot common tablet compression problems such as sticking, picking, capping, lamination and weight variation.
- Comfortable working with SOPs, batch records and production documentation.
- Quality-conscious with excellent attention to detail.
- Able to work independently as well as part of a small production team.
- Reliable, organised and punctual.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
- Physically able to handle raw materials and production equipment as required.
Desirable Experience
Experience with the following would be advantageous:
- Rotary tablet presses
- Pharmaceutical or nutraceutical manufacturing
- Direct compression
- Tablet coating
- GMP or HACCP environments
- In-process quality control testing
- Tablet tooling and punch/die changes
- Basic tablet press maintenance and troubleshooting
- Carry out machine adjustments to achieve the required tablet weight, hardness, thickness and appearance.
- Follow approved manufacturing instructions, SOPs and batch documentation.
- Perform in-process checks including tablet weight, hardness, thickness, friability and appearance.
- Ensure accurate recording of production and quality information.
- Monitor the tablet press during production and identify any problems or abnormalities.
- Carry out basic cleaning, dismantling and reassembly of equipment.
- Ensure equipment and production areas are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.
- Prevent cross-contamination by following appropriate cleaning and line-clearance procedures.
- Report equipment faults, production issues and quality deviations to the Production Manager.
- Assist with material handling, dispensing and preparation of blends where required.
- Work closely with Production, Quality and Warehouse teams to meet production targets.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company Health & Safety requirements.
- Support continuous improvement activities to improve production efficiency, quality and minimise waste.
Pay: £13.22-£14.75 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
