Ivor Thomas Funerals is a small family-run, independent Funeral Directors, where we aim to be the most value for money - high quality Funeral Directors in South Wales.
The successful candidate will be working within a small team and will have specific roles to carry out both individually and as part of the team.
The role is full time with working hours between 9.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday.
The role will include:
- Preparing equipment and vehicles for funerals
- General cleaning and organising
- Working with ashes
- Drive company vehicles
- Collection of deceased from mortuaries and other locations
- The preparation of deceased
- Funeral related administration
- Working with outside individuals and organisations to undertake each funeral
- Pall bearing at funerals
- General funeral associated duties
- Be on call one week a month
The successful candidate will need to -
- Have a good level of Maths & English
- Be experienced in using Microsoft Office Software
- Have a full drivers license
- Be comfortable with working with the deceased
- Be physically capable of lifting a deceased
- Have a high Level of Customer Service skills
- Have good attention to detail
- Be able to problem solve
- Portray a calm demeanour in pressured situations
- Have basic manual handling skills
Following the application closing date, two tests will be sent for you to complete.
If invited to an interview, there will a strength test to see if you can lift a coffin (with someone).
No prior funeral experience within the funeral sector needed, your character is far more important.

Pay: £13.55 per hour
