Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Butcher with proven experience to join our busy wholesale or retail business.
Our wholesale operation is based in Llantwit Major and operates daily from 5:00-13:00 whilst our retail vacancy is based in Cardiff and operates between 8:00-17:00, 5 days a week. Both require Saturday working and in addition Sunday with our retail store.
This is a hands-on role combining expert butchery skills. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional product quality, maintaining high standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out all aspects of traditional butchery, including cutting, boning, trimming, and preparation of meat products
Ensuring a clean, safe, and well-presented work environment
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations
Develop and promote value-added products to maximise sales
Build strong relationships with customers and provide expert advice
Requirements:
Proven experience as a butcher, with strong knife skills and product knowledge
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards
Desirable Experience:
Working with high-quality or locally sourced meats
Passion for food, provenance, and customer engagement

Pay: £36,400.00-£41,600.00 per year
