About the role
We are a premium hospitality and property group based in Bishop Auckland. We're seeking two experienced, detail-obsessed housekeepers to help us maintain a growing portfolio of holiday lets, private apartments, communal areas, commercial offices and private residences to a consistently immaculate standard. (Full company details will be shared with shortlisted candidates.)
This is not an entry-level cleaning job. We're looking for people who have worked in hospitality or private housekeeping, who take genuine pride in their work, and who hold themselves to exceptionally high standards. If you notice the details others miss and love the satisfaction of a property presented flawlessly, we'd like to hear from you.
We're building a small, trusted team, and there is real scope to grow your hours and take ownership as we expand.
What you'll be doing
Working across several nearby sites, you'll be responsible for keeping every property spotless and guest-ready. Duties include:
- Cleaning, sanitising and turning around holiday lets between guests, to a premium finish
- Stripping and remaking beds, and ironing and steaming bed linen and towels on-site so everything is crisp, fresh and impressive
- Transporting fresh linen to properties and returning used linen to our central point for laundering (including in one location carrying bedding sets up two flights of stairs)
- Resetting each property to match our room guides and presentation standards, so every space is faultless
- Restocking consumables and setting out the welcome touches that make a stay feel special
- Housekeeping and reset of commercial offices and communal areas
- General housekeeping within private residences — cleaning, bed changeovers, ironing, tidying and keeping everything in order
- Carrying out functionality checks, and reporting any issues promptly
- Carrying out periodic deep cleans and occasional one-off cleaning projects as required
- Watering outdoor pots and planters during the summer months if gardener unavailable.
About you
- Proven experience in hospitality or private housekeeping
- Genuinely high standards and a keen eye for presentation and detail
- Honest, dependable, punctual and discreet, with the utmost respect for privacy and confidentiality (you will at times be working in private homes)
- Physically fit and comfortable with the practical, active nature of the role, including carrying laundry and bedding
- Confident knowledge of appropriate cleaning products and equipment, and safe, careful use around quality furnishings and surfaces
- Able to work independently, manage your time well and take initiative
- Flexible around changeover days, which can include some weekends
- Contactable references from previous employers
A full driving licence and your own transport are essential, as the role involves moving linen and supplies between our properties, which are spread across several nearby sites.
