About the role
£13.84 per hour | 37.5 hours per week
As a Waste Sampler, you'll help ensure the quality of the waste materials arriving at our site by carrying out routine sampling, inspections and recording accurate information. This is a practical, hands-on role based in a busy waste transfer operation. You'll spend much of your day working outdoors around waste vehicles and material stockpiles, carrying out physical sampling and quality checks in all weather conditions. No previous experience is required. We'll provide full training, we're looking for someone with a positive attitude, good attention to detail and a willingness to work in an operational environment.
What you'll be doing
- Inspect incoming waste materials and carry out routine sampling.
- Check moisture content and identify contamination or non-conforming materials.
- Record sampling results accurately using site systems.
- Support quality investigations where required.
- Maintain accurate records and complete basic administrative tasks.
- Provide occasional weighbridge cover.
- Work closely with the Operations team to support the smooth running of the site.
- Follow all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and maintain high housekeeping standards.

- Are comfortable using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Can work independently and as part of a team.
- Are reliable and dependable.
- Are happy working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Are comfortable working in a busy waste management environment.
- Can undertake manual handling as part of the role.
Previous experience within waste management, recycling or quality inspection would be beneficial, but is not essential.

Similarly we recycle circa 95,000 tonnes of waste.
