Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment. Duties
- Assist with food preparation and meal assembly in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Support catering services for events and functions, ensuring timely delivery of meals
- Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, utensils, and kitchen equipment to uphold food safety standards
- Help with inventory management by organising supplies and notifying supervisors of stock levels
- Serve food to customers or staff in a courteous and professional manner
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently during all kitchen activities
- Support the team during busy periods by performing basic cooking tasks under supervision
- Assist with dishwashing and waste disposal to ensure a hygienic workspace
Experience
- Previous experience in a catering or restaurant environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety protocols is advantageous
- Familiarity with meal preparation, food safety standards, and serving procedures will be beneficial
- Experience working in a fast-paced setting demonstrates ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- A genuine interest in culinary arts and willingness to learn new skills are highly valued
