Requirements
- Previous professional dog walking experience is essential.
- Self-employed, or willing to register before starting (we can assist you with obtaining a UTR).
- Confident handling multiple dogs of different breeds and sizes.
- Excellent understanding of canine behaviour and body language.
- Calm, patient, and confident in a variety of situations.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Physically fit and active.
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
- Able to work independently and use your own initiative.
- Full UK driving licence with a clean driving record.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Willing to complete a DBS check before starting.
Responsibilities
As a Dog Walker, you will safely collect and return dogs from clients’ homes while delivering structured, enjoyable, and enriching walks. You will lead three small-group walks each day, with a maximum of four dogs per walk, ensuring the highest standards of safety, welfare, and professionalism.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Safely collecting and returning dogs using the company vehicle.
- Leading three structured small-group walks per day (maximum four dogs per walk).
- Providing approximately one hour of exercise, enrichment, and supervision during each walk.
- Continuously monitoring dog behaviour and group dynamics to ensure the safety and wellbeing of every dog.
- Managing interactions with other dogs, people, and the public responsibly.
- Using leads, treats, and positive reinforcement appropriately.
- Maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and animal welfare at all times.
- Delivering a friendly, professional, and reliable service to clients.
- Keeping the company van clean, tidy, and well maintained.
- Communicating effectively with management regarding daily activities and any concerns.
Pay: £25.00-£75.00 per day
