Huus is an independent home and lifestyle business with shops in two beautiful Suffolk towns: Halesworth and Southwold.
We offer a carefully curated collection of furniture, lighting, homeware and gifts from thoughtful UK and Northern European brands. We look for products that are beautifully designed, made to last and capable of bringing something special to our customers’ homes.
Alongside our in-store collections, many pieces can be ordered in different sizes, finishes and colours.
Our service is therefore personal, knowledgeable and consultative: we take the time to understand what our customers are looking for and help them make choices that feel right for their homes and the way they live.
As a Retail Assistant, you will welcome customers, help them explore our collections, keep the shops looking beautiful and support the smooth running of the business. You will also learn about our products and suppliers so that you can offer thoughtful and confident advice.
This is a varied, hands-on role in a friendly independent business. One moment you might be wrapping a gift, the next helping a customer choose a lamp, refreshing a display or receiving an exciting new delivery.
We are looking for someone who enjoys:
· Welcoming customers and providing friendly, attentive service.
· Helping customers choose furniture, lighting, homeware and gifts.
· Developing a good knowledge of Huus products, suppliers and collections.
· Processing sales accurately and confidently.
· Responding to customer enquiries in person, by telephone and by email.
· Helping manage customer orders and keeping customers updated.
· Receiving, checking, pricing and displaying stock.
· Keeping shelves, displays and windows attractive and well presented.
· Gift wrapping and preparing purchases for collection or delivery.
· Helping maintain a clean, tidy and welcoming shop.
· Supporting seasonal displays, events and promotional activity.
· Working flexibly with colleagues across the Halesworth and Southwold shops.
About you
You do not necessarily need extensive retail experience. What matters most is that you enjoy helping people, have a positive attitude and take pride in doing things well.
