About the role
Cash It In Goole is looking for a reliable, organised and detail-focused Sales / E-commerce Assistant to support the day-to-day running of our online sales operation.
We are an independent retail and resale business buying and selling a wide range of new and pre-owned products. Our stock regularly includes mobile phones, laptops, tablets, gaming consoles, electronics, tools, jewellery and other valuable goods.
The role involves preparing products for sale and managing listings across platforms such as eBay, Vinted and Facebook. You will research products, test electronics, assess condition, take photographs, create accurate listings, respond to customers and help process online orders.
Our stock changes daily, so no two days are exactly the same. You may spend one day testing and listing a laptop, and the next photographing tools, checking a games console, replying to customer enquiries or preparing sold items for dispatch.
This is a hands-on, on-site role rather than a purely administrative or social media position. Accuracy is particularly important because many of our products are pre-owned and may have signs of use, missing accessories or faults that must be clearly described.
Main responsibilities
- Researching products, model numbers, specifications and current market values
- Comparing recent selling prices to help determine competitive and profitable listing prices
- Inspecting products and accurately recording their condition, accessories and any visible damage
- Carrying out basic functionality tests on phones, laptops, tablets, consoles and other electronics
- Checking device specifications such as model, storage capacity, connectivity and operating condition
- Factory resetting and preparing devices for resale where appropriate
- Following our condition-grading process for new and pre-owned products
- Identifying items that should be sold as faulty, incomplete, spares or repairs
- Taking clear, consistent and professional product photographs
- Creating accurate listings for eBay, Vinted, Facebook and other online sales channels
- Writing informative product titles, descriptions and item specifics
- Selecting suitable categories, condition options, postage details and listing formats
- Updating existing listings and adjusting prices where required
- Keeping online stock accurate when products sell in-store or through another platform
- Responding professionally to customer questions, offers and order enquiries
- Helping manage returns, delivery issues and marketplace cases
- Checking sold items against their listings before dispatch
- Packaging orders carefully and preparing them for collection or delivery
- Supporting customers in-store when required
- Assisting with general shop duties during quieter online-sales periods
- Looking for practical ways to improve listing quality, efficiency and online sales performance
Who we are looking for
Previous e-commerce experience is useful but not essential. This is an entry-level opportunity, and training will be provided.
You do not need to already be an expert in every product we sell. You must, however, be comfortable researching unfamiliar items, following established processes and taking responsibility for the accuracy of your work.
The successful applicant should be:
- Reliable, punctual and professional
- Organised and able to manage several tasks at once
- Highly attentive to detail
- Confident using computers, smartphones and online platforms
- Comfortable handling and learning about different types of technology
- Able to research information independently and check that it is accurate
- A clear written communicator with good spelling and grammar
- Honest and precise when describing product condition and faults
- Commercially aware, with an interest in pricing, sales and customer demand
- Calm and professional when dealing with customers
- Able to work efficiently without sacrificing accuracy
- Willing to ask questions, follow feedback and learn new processes
- Able to work both independently and as part of the wider shop team
Experience with any of the following would be beneficial but is not required:
- eBay, Vinted or Facebook Marketplace
- Online product listings
- Retail or customer service
- Mobile phones, computers, gaming or consumer electronics
- Product photography
- Order processing, packaging or dispatch
What we offer
- Flexible working hours and days
- The possibility of either part-time or full-time employment
- Training in product identification, testing, grading, pricing and listing
- Experience using several major online selling platforms
- A varied role involving a wide range of products
- An in-store staff discount
- Opportunities to develop your skills and take on additional responsibility
- Scope for professional progression and potential future pay development as your skills and contribution grow

Please apply with an up-to-date CV and a short introduction explaining why you are interested in the position.
Please include:
