About the Role:
Africa Humanitarian Action and Development Services supports programmes designed to strengthen communities, improve access to essential services, and deliver measurable outcomes across humanitarian and development initiatives.
We are looking for a Humanitarian Programme Manager who can take ownership of programme planning, delivery, coordination, and performance. You will work across multiple projects, ensuring that programmes are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with organisational standards and funding requirements.
This is a hands on management role for someone who is comfortable balancing strategic planning with day to day programme delivery. You will work closely with internal teams, external partners, community stakeholders, and funding organisations.

Key Responsibilities:
Programme Management:
Plan, coordinate, and oversee humanitarian and development programmes from initiation through completion.
Project Delivery:
Ensure programmes meet agreed objectives, timelines, budgets, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
Budget Oversight:
Work closely with finance teams to monitor programme expenditure, forecasts, funding allocations, and financial performance.
Stakeholder Management:
Develop strong working relationships with partner organisations, donors, community representatives, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
Team Coordination:
Guide programme staff and project teams, allocate priorities, monitor workloads, and support consistent delivery across multiple workstreams.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
Track programme performance using agreed indicators and ensure accurate reporting against objectives and outcomes.
Risk Management:
Identify operational, financial, compliance, and delivery risks and develop appropriate mitigation plans.
Reporting:
Prepare clear programme reports, progress updates, performance summaries, and documentation for management and funding partners.
Compliance:
Ensure programmes operate in accordance with organisational policies, contractual obligations, safeguarding requirements, and relevant regulatory standards.
Continuous Improvement:
Review programme processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, accountability, and overall programme effectiveness.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience:
At least 5 years of experience in programme management, project management, humanitarian operations, international development, nonprofit services, or a related field.
Programme Delivery:
Strong experience managing complex projects or programmes involving multiple stakeholders, deadlines, budgets, and reporting requirements.
Financial Management:
Good understanding of programme budgeting, financial monitoring, forecasting, and cost control.
Stakeholder Skills:
Confident communicating with internal teams, external partners, senior stakeholders, and funding organisations.
Organisation:
Excellent planning and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage several projects and deadlines at the same time.
Communication:
Strong written and verbal English communication skills with the ability to prepare professional reports and present programme information clearly.
Problem Solving:
Able to identify operational challenges, assess risks, and develop practical solutions.
Mindset:
You are organised, accountable, adaptable, and focused on delivering measurable results. You understand when detailed planning is required and when decisive action is needed to keep programmes moving forward.
Pay: £4,000.00-£4,800.00 per month
