Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and versatile Freelance Driver & Setup Technician to join our technical deployment team. The role involves transporting, loading, unloading, setting up, and dismantling professional sound, lighting, video, staging, draping, and networking equipment for a wide range of live events and installations.

Key Responsibilities
- Safely drive company vehicles to deliver equipment and materials to event venues and client locations.
- Load and unload equipment carefully, ensuring all items are securely packed and protected during transport.
- Assist with the installation, setup, configuration, and dismantling of sound, lighting, video, staging, draping, and networking equipment.
- Use hand tools and technical drawings where required to assemble and install equipment.
- Carry out basic testing and troubleshooting to ensure systems are operating correctly before handover.
- Work closely with colleagues and onsite clients to ensure efficient event setups and breakdowns.
- Follow assigned schedules while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism.
- Carry out routine vehicle inspections and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
- Maintain equipment in good working order and report any damaged or faulty items.
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience driving vans or commercial vehicles is preferred.
- Experience within the live events, audiovisual, staging, or technical production industry.
- Mechanical aptitude and confidence using hand tools.
- Basic knowledge of computer networking or AV systems is advantageous.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented attitude.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting and moving technical equipment.
- Ability to work independently while remaining adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
