Looking for someone 10am to 2pm Monday to Friday
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cook / Cafe Assistant to join our team. This role involves preparing and serving food in a friendly café environment, ensuring high standards of food safety and customer service. The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary arts, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy setting. Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of food items according to menu specifications and health standards
- Assist with meal preparation, ensuring quality and presentation meet company standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitising surfaces
- Serve customers efficiently, taking orders and providing friendly assistance
- Follow food safety procedures at all times to ensure compliance with regulations
- Restock supplies as needed, including ingredients, utensils, and disposables
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth operation of the café
- Assist with opening and closing duties as required
Experience
- Previous experience in food preparation or cooking within a café, restaurant, or similar environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is advantageous
- Experience in serving customers with professionalism and courtesy is preferred
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and meal assembly processes will be beneficial
- A genuine interest in culinary arts and delivering excellent customer service is essential for success in this role
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £12.71-£12.72 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
