Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for driving and delivering exceptional service. The position requires a valid driving licence, experience in commercial driving, and familiarity with flatbed vehicles.
Duties
- Safely operate company vehicles, including flatbed trailers & towing, to deliver goods to clients and customers.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to optimise time and fuel consumption.
- Load and unload items carefully, ensuring products are secure during transit.
- Verify delivery orders and obtain signatures or proof of delivery as required.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance needs.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety standards are met.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or issues.
- Follow all health and safety regulations during transportation and loading/unloading processes.
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, ideally with knowledge of commercial driving procedures.
- Experience with flatbed transportation is preferred.
- Strong driving skills with a clean driving record.
- Excellent organisational skills to manage routes efficiently.
- Good communication skills to liaise professionally with clients and team members.
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as loading/unloading goods safely.
- Knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations relevant to commercial driving.
