General Manager – Busy Sports & Entertainment Pub
Salary: £40,000 per annum | 42 hours per week
We are looking for an experienced and driven General Manager to lead the team at our busy sports and weekend entertainment pub in Gravesend.
This is an exciting opportunity for a strong, hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and knows how to deliver an exceptional customer experience while driving sales, standards and team performance.
The Role
As General Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the venue, leading a large and busy operation with a strong focus on sports, weekend entertainment, service and atmosphere.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading, motivating and developing the management and wider team
- Driving sales, profitability and commercial performance
- Maintaining consistently high standards across the venue
- Delivering an outstanding customer experience
- Managing busy sports fixtures, events and weekend entertainment
- Recruitment, training and staff development
- Stock control, labour management and operational costs
- Ensuring all licensing, health & safety and company procedures are followed
- Creating an energetic, positive and well-managed atmosphere for both customers and staff
About You
We are looking for someone with strong leadership skills and proven experience managing a busy pub, bar or entertainment venue.
You will ideally have:
- Previous General Manager or senior management experience
- Strong leadership and people-management skills
- Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Excellent commercial awareness
- A genuine passion for hospitality and customer service
- The ability to lead from the front and remain calm under pressure
- A Personal Licence
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and major sporting events
Weekend availability is essential, although weekends will be worked on a rotational basis as part of the management team.
