Job Overview
Purpose of the Role:
To deliver accurate order processing, responsive technical and product support, and first‑class customer service to construction materials customers, while safeguarding the safe, compliant and efficient running of the Liverpool terminal. The role bridges commercial requirements and operational delivery by coordinating orders, logistics and documentation, resolving issues quickly, and contributing to continuous improvement of customer experience and terminal efficiency. The role ensures commercial and operational requirements are delivered efficiently and supports effective implementation of quality, health and safety, environmental and regulatory requirements within terminal operations.
Technical Sales Executive reports to Operations manager.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Manage and accurately process customer orders, recording requirements and communicating them to terminal and logistics teams to support timely, efficient deliveries.
· Act as a key point of contact for customer enquiries on orders, deliveries and product-related queries, providing professional customer service.
· Provide technical and product support to customers on cement products, specifications, quality and suitability, and assist with associated documentation.
· Liaise with customers, hauliers, suppliers, terminal personnel and internal departments to coordinate orders and deliveries effectively; monitor order progress and resolve discrepancies promptly to minimise disruption.
· Maintain accurate commercial, customer, order and technical records; prepare and process order records, delivery information, product documentation and reports in line with company procedures.
· Support the commercial team with quotations, pricing information and customer account queries, and undertake related commercial administration.
· Assist with stock monitoring and reconciliation, escalating discrepancies or potential supply issues to the appropriate manager.
· Support the effective implementation of quality, health and safety, environmental and regulatory requirements within terminal operations and ensure all work complies with company policies, procedures and relevant legislation.
· Assist with investigations into customer complaints, delivery issues, product queries and quality concerns, ensuring appropriate follow‑up and resolution.
· Produce and maintain operational, commercial and customer reports and provide information to management when required.
· Identify and help implement opportunities to improve customer service, order processing, administrative processes and operational efficiency, working collaboratively with terminal, logistics, sales, technical, finance and management teams.
· Maintain confidentiality and handle commercially sensitive customer and company information appropriately; undertake other reasonable duties consistent with the responsibilities and seniority of the role.
Required Skills and Competencies:
· Strong customer service orientation with clear, professional communication across internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated stakeholder and cross‑functional collaboration and problem‑solving capability in prior roles.
· High level of accuracy, attention to detail and time management for order processing, documentation and stock reconciliation. Advanced Excel capability, including Pivot Tables, formulas and filters, to validate and analyse operational data.
· Ability to triage, investigate and resolve order, data and logistics discrepancies at pace, maintaining customer commitments. Experience in incident management, root cause analysis and coordinating resolution across multiple systems and teams.
· Professional integrity and discretion handling commercially sensitive information. Prior roles included confidentiality and audit‑readiness responsibilities.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
· At least 3 years prior experience in a commercial operations, sales operations, customer operations or technical support role within an industrial, logistics or technology‑enabled environment.
· Excellent written and verbal English.
Pay: £41,700.00-£41,750.00 per year
