Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled FLT Driver to join our clients warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklift trucks to handle materials efficiently and safely within the warehouse environment. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of warehouse operations, equipment maintenance, and materials handling procedures. The FLT Driver will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth flow of goods through shipping, receiving, and storage processes, contributing to overall operational excellence.
Working hours
Rotating shifts;
6:00am - 14:00pm & 14:00pm - 22:00pm.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklift trucks to load, unload, and transport materials across the warehouse in accordance with safety protocols.
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accurate documentation and proper handling of goods.
- Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records accurately.
- Perform basic equipment repairs and maintenance checks to ensure forklifts are in optimal working condition.
- Handle materials carefully, adhering to safety standards for heavy lifting and storage.
- Support warehouse organisation by stacking and storing items systematically.
- Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow and maintain a safe working environment.
- Assist with stocktaking and inventory management tasks as required.
Skills
- Proven experience operating forklift trucks within a warehouse setting.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) for tracking inventory movements.
- Mechanical aptitude for basic equipment repairs and troubleshooting.
- Strong materials handling skills, including load & unload operations.
- Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping.
- Basic maths skills for inventory counting and measurement tasks.
- Physical strength for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or moving around the warehouse environment.
- Ability to work safely around machinery and adhere to health & safety regulations at all times.
