Monday - Thursday for 38 weeks a year, plus an extra 23 hours a year for training and professional development days, a total of 1,115.5 hours per year.
Playbox Nursery, which operates under the umbrella of St John’s Methodist Church, is seeking an amazing Early Years Practitioner to be available from September 2026 to join our dedicated, happy team in this preschool setting.
Day to day duties include:
caring for and recognise the emotional needs of children aged 2 to 5 years
planning and supervising daily activities to meet individual children’s needs
setting up the room for the day and tidying up at the end of the session
being responsible for contributing to children’s learning journeys and writing children’s reports
being a dedicated practitioner who wants to support preschool children to develop socially emotionally and intellectually
having high expectations of learning and behaviour
enjoying being part of a supportive, pro-active, and energetic team.
Person Specification includes:
to have good working knowledge of the EYFS statutory standards and Safeguarding
hold a GCSE in English and Mathematics and have a minimum of a level 3 OFSTED appropriate Childcare qualification or be in training to gain one
experience of working with children in an engaging way
able to work well within a team and show initiative
be friendly, reliable, and have a flexible attitude
good interpersonal skills, being able to communicate well with peers, children’s parents/carers, and other professionals.
