What you’ll do
You will be responsible for the development of our site relationships with your customer/project, managing project programmes, cost control, delivering the installation and overseeing the commissioning and hand-over. Your projects will be mainly in the South East of England including London. You will be expected to regularly report on projects' progress and deadlines to your line manager.
Key responsibilities
- On-time delivery of smoke control. Associated tasks include:
o project planning, budget control and monthly project valuations
o procurement and management of subcontractor and in-house services
- Management and monitoring of project plans to ensure successful completion of Group SCS and customer-required planned activities, for on-time delivery of the projects to schedule
- Driving efforts to set high standards of project management and delivery
- Building long-term working relationships with your site-based clients (QS, Site Managers, Project Managers/Directors)
- Establishing rapport and team culture at your assigned project/sites
- Providing accurate and timely project valuations in-line with company KPI’s
- Implementing and managing the company’s project management, H&S and QA process and procedures
- Thorough documentation management
- You must be comfortable in getting your hands dirty in day-to-day tasks to get things done
- Collecting, recording and reporting product quality data to our teams within the organisation
- Undertake any other duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
About You – What you will bring to us
- Experience working in a construction environment and enjoy being on site
- You always aim to deliver great customer services in everything you do, but you are not afraid to say ‘No’ when needed
- Candidates will be required to have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- You enjoy negotiation and it makes your day when you do a good job and increase your project’s profitability
- Be passionate about buildings and love working with people
- Able to work independently and with initiative, but enjoy being part of a team and involved in the bigger picture
Qualifications
- BA/BSc degree or equivalent practical experience
- Experience in project or program management, with direct experience in M&E services preferred (smoke control, BEMS or others)
- CITB H&S Qualified (CSCS, SMSTS, IOSH)
- Training in Contract Law considered desirable but not essential
