Job Purpose
To provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to residents, promoting dignity, independence, choice, privacy, and wellbeing at all times in accordance with current legislation, company policies, and individual care plans.
Main Duties & ResponsibilitiesPersonal Care
- Assist residents with all aspects of personal care including washing, dressing, grooming, continence care, and oral hygiene.
- Support residents with mobility and transfers using appropriate moving and handling equipment.
- Promote independence wherever possible while ensuring resident safety and comfort.
Nutrition & Hydration
- Support residents with meals and drinks as required.
- Monitor and record food and fluid intake where necessary.
- Follow guidance relating to modified diets, choking risks, and nutritional needs.
Medication Support
- Assist with medication administration where trained and competent to do so.
- Report any concerns regarding medication or resident wellbeing immediately.
Emotional & Social Support
- Provide companionship and emotional reassurance to residents.
- Encourage participation in activities and social engagement.
- Maintain positive relationships with residents, relatives, visitors, and professionals.
Care Documentation
- Accurately complete daily records, charts, and documentation.
- Report changes in residents’ physical or mental wellbeing promptly.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
Safeguarding & Safety
- Safeguard residents from abuse, neglect, discrimination, or harm.
- Follow infection prevention and control procedures.
- Adhere to health and safety policies and safe working practices.
- Respond appropriately in emergency situations.
Team Working
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and healthcare professionals.
- Attend staff meetings, supervision sessions, and mandatory training.
- Maintain professional conduct and a positive attitude at all times.

- Caring, compassionate, and reliable nature

- Willingness to undertake training
Desirable
- Previous care experience
- NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care
- Knowledge of dementia care and safeguarding
- Medication training
