Job Overview
We are looking for a friendly, organised, and professional Dental Receptionist to join our busy dental practice. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and play a key role in delivering excellent customer service and ensuring the smooth running of the front desk.
As a Dental Receptionist, you will be responsible for welcoming patients, managing appointments, handling enquiries, and supporting the clinical team with administrative tasks. You will help create a positive and reassuring experience for patients while maintaining accurate records and adhering to confidentiality and data protection standards.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organisational skills, a calm and professional manner, and the ability to manage a busy reception area efficiently. Previous experience in a dental or healthcare setting is desirable, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Reception / Administrative Duties:
- Provide a warm, welcoming, and professional reception service for all patients.
- Manage appointment bookings, recalls, and cancellations efficiently using our dental and patient management software.
- Handle telephone, email and in-person enquiries in a courteous and helpful manner.
- Managing patient enquiries and referrals through CRM systems, ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely follow-up.
- Process payments, maintain accurate records, and assist with patient correspondence.
- Following up on patient enquiries and referrals through CRM systems.
- Liaise effectively with clinicians and colleagues to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.
- Maintain accurate patient records and support compliance with GDPR and confidentiality policies.
- General administrative duties.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the reception area to ensure a welcoming environment.
Qualities and Experience
- Previous reception experience in a private or mixed dental practice is preferred.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and multitasking skills.
- A friendly, professional manner yet approachable with a genuine focus on patient care.
- Flexible and adaptable team player, able to prioritise effectively.
